Snorkeling
Snorkeling is an aquatic activity , which
is simple and allow you to participate without any age limit. There are lesser activities
which you can take part as a family from the youngest to eldest , and
Snorkeling is one of them.
Sri Lanka is an island surrounded by the
Indian Ocean and this country has many beautiful beaches and natural treasures
in the sea. Snorkeling in Sri Lanka gives you an unique wonderful experience which
will be unforgettable in your lifetime. Sri Lanka is becoming famous for its
exotic Snorkeling hotspots which are really ideal for an underwater wonderland.
These Snorkeling spots are not only for
professionals but also for the beginners where they can participate with help
of the snorkeling trainers/ experts. Diving and Snorkeling in the blues of
Indian Ocean in the period of November to April will give you a great experience.
Snorkeling is the sport of swimming with
a diving mask and snorkel tube on. This snorkel tube allow the swimmer
to breath under the water for a long time. Fins are used for the feet. In Sri
Lanka there are world famous Snorkeling Spots:
Hikkaduwa
This is a small town located in the south
cast of Sri Lanka, where impressive coral reefs and marine animals makes the
Hikkaduwa beach one of the best Snorkeling Spot. This beach is a home to a
wonderful coral reef and spectacular tropical fish species.
Unawatuna Bay
Unawatuna bay is also located in the south
cast of Sri Lanka, which is not only famouse for best beaches in Sri Lanka but
also for the amazing underwater experience. Unawatuna Rock Island is the one of
the most famous Snorkeling places in Sri Lanka.
Pasikudah
This
is a town settled at Batticaloa
district. Most of the spots
in Passikudah can be visited from Trincomalee also. But some of the popular
spots here are the Passikudah reef and the British Seargent wreck.
